Delete your account

This is permanent. There is no undo, no grace period and no way for us to put it back afterwards. Read what goes and what stays before you start.

What is deleted

• Your account, and the only way to sign in to it.
• Every run you started and every word of narration written for them — removed 30 days after your account is deleted. Until then they are kept where nobody, including you, can reach them.
• Your notes, your badges, your sign-in tokens, your notifications and your daily claims.
• The analytics and moderation records tied to you.
• The art files you uploaded to worlds that were yours alone — unpublished drafts no other player has ever run.

What is kept, and why

• Worlds you published — and any world another player has run — are kept, with your name removed. The art you uploaded to them stays in place.

  Other people are playing them. Their runs, the words written for them and the pictures they are told with are theirs, and deleting your account is not a reason to destroy someone else's story.

• The text of unpublished drafts only you could see is disconnected from you rather than erased.

  Once your account is gone, nothing links those drafts to you and no one can reach them — but the rows themselves are not destroyed today, and we would rather tell you that than promise more than the machine does.

• Payment records — what was bought, when, and for how much — are kept, along with the credit accounting: granted, spent, and any unspent remainder.

  We are required to keep the financial record whole, and every balance has to stay explainable. It all hangs off an anonymous id with no name, handle or address on it — and with the account gone, nobody can ever sign in to spend what is left. Unusable, not erased.

• A support message you sent us keeps its text and the reply address you typed on it, with the link to your account removed.

  It is the record that you asked and that we complied, and the address is the only way we can still answer a ticket that was open when you left. Erasing either at the moment we honoured it would leave no proof — and no reply.
