Terms of service

LCLVERSE is an interactive fiction service operated by Lightning Command Lines LLC. You open a run in a world, and the narrator writes the story around the moves you make.

Narration is generated for your run as you play it. It is not a fixed text, it will not repeat identically, and it is fiction — nothing in it is advice, instruction, or a statement of fact about the real world.

Narration is generated by an AI model. It may be inaccurate, out of character, or unsuitable. If it is, use Report a problem in the run rather than assuming we have seen it.

One account per person. You are responsible for what happens on it, so keep your sign-in link and your session to yourself.

We may close an account that abuses the service, other players, or the narrator's safety limits.

Credits are a prepaid entitlement to narration on this service, and nothing else.

They have no cash value. They are not money, not a deposit, and not a stored-value instrument. They cannot be exchanged for money, transferred between accounts, or spent anywhere outside LCLVERSE.

Credits are non-refundable once granted or purchased, because they are spent on narration that has already been produced for you.

Credits do not expire while the service runs. If we pause or end the service we will say so plainly rather than quietly deleting a balance.

LCLVERSE is written to a PG-13 line on the Google Play version. Violence and consequence belong in these stories. Sexual content does not, sexual content involving minors never will, and neither do real-world instructions for harming people.

These are not allowed anywhere on the service, in what you write or what you try to steer the narrator into: anything sexual involving minors; soliciting sexual contact; real-world instructions for violence or weapons; exposing another person's private information; content encouraging self-harm; and sexually explicit material outside a world rated for adults.

The narrator refuses moves that cross that line, and moderation may answer with a safe line instead of the story. Do not try to route around it.

A world you publish stays yours. You keep ownership of it.

By publishing, you grant Lightning Command Lines LLC a non-exclusive licence to host, display and run your world for players on this service, and to show its title and art where the service lists stories. That licence exists so the story can be served; it is not a transfer of your work.

You are responsible for what you publish: that it is yours to publish, and that it obeys the conduct rules above.

Every run carries Report a problem. Use it on narration that is offensive, on a world that breaks these rules, or on anything that looks illegal.

A person reads every report. We may unpublish a world, remove content, or close an account over one. To report something without an account, or to raise a rights complaint, use the contact form at the foot of this page or write to [email protected].

You must be 13 or older to hold an account.

The Google Play version carries PG-13 stories only. Adults-only worlds exist on the website and the direct download, and unlock only on a Google-verified age of 18 or over.

Worlds are in playtest. Runs can break, beats can change, and a world may be reset while it is still being built. Where we can, we will say so before it happens.

The service is provided as it is today, without a promise that it will be available without interruption.
